2019 Triumph Scrambler 1200 XC and XE First Look—At a special launch event in London, Triumph has taken the wraps off its all-new Scrambler 1200.

This is the largest Scrambler to date from the guys who essentially created the modern scrambler genre with the original Scrambler 900 of 2006. It features the same 1200cc parallel-twin motor found in the Bonneville/Bobber, with power claimed at a healthy 89 hp and 81 lb-ft of torque and will come in two variants in the XC and a more off-road focused version in the XE.
The XE will get a longer rake (26.9° versus 25.8°) for better off-road performance, a Continental IMU that houses Cornering ABS and lean angle sensitive traction control, and an extra ‘Off Road Pro’ mode alongside the five standard riding modes the XC has.
Both bikes share the same Showa forks, twin Ohlins shocks, Brembo M50 brake calipers, 21-inch front, and 17-inch rear tubeless wheels, second-generation TFT dash, LED lighting front and rear, cruise control, keyless ignition, a USB charging port, Triumph’s first turn-by-turn navigation system and the XE also gets hand guards and heated grips as standard.
Another interesting feature is Triumph has teamed up with GoPro for the Scrambler 1200, announcing you’ll be able to control your GoPro features straight from the dash via Bluetooth. That Bluetooth set up will also allow you to pair your phone, but not at the same time as your camera.
The new Triumph Scrambler 1200 tips the scales at a claimed dry weight of 452 lb for the base model XC, with the 1200 XE version gaining an extra four pounds for 456 lb dry. No word yet from Triumph North America as to when we’ll see the Scrambler 1200 here or the price.
