Powered by Triumph’s glorious 1160cc three-cylinder engine, it now delivers 180 hp at 10,750 rpm and 94.4 lb.-ft. of torque at 8,750 rpm. These gains are paired with a revised chassis featuring lighter wheels and Öhlins’ cutting-edge Smart EC3.0 semi-active suspension—a first for the RS model—and in a package that weighs a scant 439 pounds ready to rock.

The engine updates include a new, freer-flowing exhaust system, featuring a shorter, fatter design for the muffler, contributes to the power increase alongside reprogrammed electronics. Crankshaft balancing has been refined for better smoothness, and a premium Akrapovič titanium and carbon fiber silencer is available as an option. Together, these changes enhance both power delivery and refinement, although the jury is still out on the aesthetics of the muffler.
The Öhlins Smart EC3.0 suspension, the same seen on the 2025 Ducati Panigale V4 S and Honda CBR1000RR-R SP should transform handling (or at least the options to do so), with the 43mm upside-down fork and monoshock offering 4.7 inches of travel. The system continuously adjusts damping in real-time to match riding conditions—braking, accelerating, cornering, or cruising. Using the Speed’s TFT display, riders can customize seven parameters, including braking support, cornering support, and overall firmness, firmly putting Triumph at the pointy end of what’s offered in the category.
Rider aids have also been improved and tinkered with, like the front-wheel-lift control, engine-braking control, and brake-slide assist (Track mode only). The chassis is paired to Pirelli’s stupendous Diablo Supercorsa SP V3 tires, so the Speed should provide exceptional grip and stability.
Visually, the 2025 model follows Triumph’s recent pattern with its Street and Speed models with a sharper design with a redesigned exhaust, lighter wheels sporting a new six spoke pattern, and an updated seat cowl. Slightly higher and wider handlebars improve comfort and leverage, while weight-saving measures, including a lithium battery, keep the bike agile despite the added technology. At 439 pounds, it’s only 2 pounds heavier than the previous model.
The Speed Triple 1200 RS offers excellent value for a high-performance naked bike, especially when compared to some of the offerings from Italy and Germany, undercutting some rivals in price while delivering cutting-edge technology. It will be available in Jet Black, Granite and Diablo Red, or Granite and Performance Yellow, and we’ll be riding it in March. Ooo, this is gonna be a good one.
