Husqvarna takes the wraps off the long-awaited little street scrambler.

The 2018 model year is going to be a big one for the tiny Husqvarna street line up as it gets two new bikes. We’ve already had a look at the Vitpilen 401 café racer here and now it’s the turn of the Svartpilen 401 street scrambler.
Like the café racer, the Svartpilen has been shown in prototype guise for the past two years and now it’s finally coming to our streets next year. It’s essentially the same bike as the Vitpilen (and thus based off parent company’s 390 Duke), so you’ll be getting a 375cc single with 44 hp and 27 lb-ft of torque at your disposal, the same tubular steel chassis and ABS-equipped Bybre brakes.
Where the Svartpilen differs from the Vitpilen is all in the clothes, a single off-road handlebar replacing the Vitpilen’s clip-ons, spoked wheels running Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tires, a blacked-out muffler, skid plate, engine protector, black bodywork and a tank rack for securing a tank bag.
Husqvarna sent tongues wagging when the prototype was released two years ago, and the production version hasn’t disappointed. We can’t wait to ride this thing!
